WE HELP NASA DISCOVER
NHPA is the professional association run by and for NASA HQ employees
Legal Standing
Unlike typical associations, we have legal standing within NASA since we have collective bargaining rights. Which means NASA HQ employees can negotiate, as a group, policies that impact our work conditions and careers. For example, if there is a reorganization, NHPA leadership, with input for our members, can negotiate over the impact and implementation (I&I).

Network
NHPA is an affiliate of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE), which is an umbrella organization that provides us support and a network with other federal and NASA organized employee groups throughout the U.S. For example, employees at Ames, Glenn, Marshall, and Goddard are all affiliates of IFPTE.

Volunteers
We are run by and for NASA HQ employees who volunteer their time and energy to support NHPA's work to improve the lives of all NASA employees and to achieve NASA's mission. We need your support since we cannot do this alone! Joining NHPA makes a stronger voice at NASA Headquarters

About IFPTEThe International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE) is a non-profit, employee based organization made up of several autonomous affiliates and was founded in 1918. IFPTE advocates on behalf of more than 80,000 women and men, primarily in professional and technical positions, including all engineering disciplines, along with a wide variety of scientific and research professions, lawyers, administrative judges, and economists all within the private, public, and federal sectors.
IFPTE has been a great resource over the years, providing us with best practices, legal, and guidance on a variety of issues. They also provide us access to a network of other organized professionals in related fields and occupations, including other NASA employee associations.
